To ensure the prevalence of the values of Leadership and Excellence, Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) recently held its Faculty Development Seminar entitled “Adapt and Create: Embracing PCCR’s Culture of Excellence” at the Justice Felix A. Bautista Gymnasium. For the whole month of August, PCCR Professors and Teachers will undergo a series of seminars that aim to sharpen their instructional skill set toward a well-improved student experience.
Beginning the month-long series was Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Noel Sergio discussing the Objectives of the In-service Training and the areas on Attitude, Pedagogy and Technology in relation to the said theme. This was immediately followed by an inspirational message from PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista.
Leading the PCCR Support Services segment, Human Resource Director Mary Ann Ferrer discussed the PCCR Vision-Mission Statement and Organizational Chart. Each of the different support units soon followed with their own unit introductions. Among the departments present to discuss their services were Finance, Registrar, Business Development, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Student Experience, Student Affairs, Library, and Alumni Affairs. In the afternoon, Executive Vice President Karim Bangcola talked about what the faculty members could expect for this coming semester.
The second day featured a discussion on the Learning Modalities, beginning with College of Criminal Justice (CCJ) Dean Dr. Jezreel Vicente and followed immediately by PCCR High School Principal Dr. Joju Minoza. Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Noel Sergio capped off the morning session with a talk on proper classroom management and The Code of Conduct and Discipline for Teachers. For the afternoon, PCCR General Education Head Dr. Lesa Diaz discussed facets of the English Language Proficiency Program, which aims to help PCCR achieve its vision of being globally-recognized.
